My Eyes
Colored pencils, pen and pencil on paper, 9" x 12"

This poem was inspired by the incredible individuals that struggle with feeling as though they are not truly seen. They are so much more than their disability and that should be acknowledged. This poem could really resonate with many different people and their fight for their true selves to be recognized. We are not defined by our disabilities, our bodies, our short comings, but rather by who we are to our core. This poem is dedicated to simply being our authentic selves, seeing each other, and celebrating each other.
